Kung Fu Program
The Chinese Kung Fu Wushu Academy offers instruction in three different styles of Traditional Kung Fu (功夫): Shaolin Kung Fu, Wah Lum Kung Fu and Choy Li Fut Kung Fu.
Each of the styles of kung fu we teach has its own history and grace, and we are committed to working with our students to help them discover which style is best suited for them.
The Traditional Kung Fu curriclum is designed to help students ages 13 and up- teens and adults of all ages- develop a deep commitment to, appreciation of and love for the ancient art of Traditional Kung Fu.
Students in our kung fu classes will learn and practice fist and weapons forms, kicks, punches and acrobatics, increasing their strength, flexibility and endurance. The teaching of practical self-defense techniques is integrated throughout the curriculum. Students in our kung fu classes will also learn mastery of kung fu weapons of their choosing, including sword, spear, staff, saber, chain whip, guan dao, fan and horse hair whip. In addition, students in our kung fu classes may engage in light sparring in order to better understand the martial arts applications of the Traditional Kung Fu forms they are learning.
Our kung fu classes are open to all teens and adults, including those with no martial arts experience. If you want to learn, we will teach you.
Below are videos demonstrations performed by Sifu Binh Nguyen to give you a better understanding of the differences between the three different styles of Traditional Kung Fu we teach: Shaolin Kung Fu, Wah Lum Kung Fu and Choy Li Fut Kung Fu.
